It was started in 1943 by the Cruse family. The only Sephardic Jewish synagogue in the state of North Carolina is also located in Rowan County.
This county is located within a few hours of the ocean. It is also a short drive from the Appalachian Mountains. The eastern border of the county is formed by the Yadkin River which provides fishing and other water activities.
