Stone/brick exteriors have been around for centuries and suggest elegance and modern sophistication. While this is an expensive exterior that is available in granite, slate, limestone, marble, or brick, if you are fortunate enough to live close to an area where the stone is quarried, you will pay less. While brick may run an average cost of $6–$12, real stone can be $12–$30 per square foot. For this reason, many property owners choose to use stone or brick siding as an accent or only on the front of their buildings for a richer look without exorbitant expense. It is also possible to find artificial, engineered stone that is lighter and easier to install. It is less expensive, but does not sacrifice good looks in the process. It is also very durable and unaffected by weather and climate conditions.
